Accused Harasser Inquired: 'However Imagine I Could Be Madeleine?'
A individual accused with pursuing Kate McCann reportedly deposited her a recorded message which posed: "what if I am Madeleine?"
Julia Wandelt, twenty-four, who witnesses stated has repeatedly declared she was the vanished Madeleine McCann, and Karen Spragg are facing charges indicted with pursuing Kate and Gerry McCann from June 2022 and February the current year.
On Monday, the tribunal learned phone records and data obtained from phones recorded Ms Wandelt consistently asking Madeleine's mother for a DNA test throughout the past two years.
Madeleine's disappearance in 2007 - as a three-year-old during a trip in Portugal - is one of the most publicized child disappearance cases and is still unresolved.
'I Don't Want Money'
Another recorded message, shared in court, captured Ms Wandelt saying: "I realize I'm fat and unattractive like Madeleine had been, but I believe what I feel."
While another instance of Ms Wandelt's recordings with Mrs McCann's answerphone said: "What if there is a slight possibility that I am she? Then what? Is that not significant for you?"
"I am not seeking money, I possess a life here in Poland, I just want to know," she added.
The tribunal was informed that by means of electronic messages, text messages and communications, Ms Wandelt asked for a biological test, forwarded childhood photos to her phone in a attempt to show a resemblance to Mrs McCann's vanished daughter, and stated to have "recollections" from a early life with the McCanns.
An intelligence analyst, an intelligence analyst with the police force who gathered the data, informed the court there "didn't appear to be any replies" from Mrs McCann.
Ms Wandelt furthermore reached out to close associates of the McCanns, according to the communication logs.
On that date, Mr McCann answered a call from Ms Wandelt to his wife's phone, saying she had "the wrong phone."
During that incident Ms Wandelt deposited a message on Mrs McCann's voicemail saying "I will continue and I intend to demonstrate my claim."
The court was informed Mrs Spragg established a connection online with Ms Wandelt before joining her on a trip to the McCanns' residence in that area in December 2024.
Communication data revealed Mrs Spragg had reached out using communication app to Mrs McCann to state the media had portrayed Ms Wandelt as "emotionally disturbed" but that she should be taken seriously in the months before the visit to Rothley, that area, in December 2024.
The court heard correspondence between the two individuals, in last November, discussing attempting to acquire Mrs McCann's biological evidence from her trash or from silverware at a dining venue.
"We have to assert ourselves," the co-defendant informed Ms Wandelt.
On the night of the appearance to their home, the defendant transmitted a text which expressed: "We are sitting adjacent to the McCanns' house with our lights out resembling private investigators. I wanted to accomplish this with Peter Andrew I didn't imagine I would be involved in this with the McCanns."
The proceedings continues.
