British boxer Anthony Joshua Discharged from Hospital in Lagos Following Fatal Car Crash
Olympic gold medalist Anthony Joshua has been discharged from hospital, Nigerian authorities confirmed on late Wednesday. The fighter was part of a serious road collision near Lagos on December 29th, a devastating event that resulted in the deaths of two of his team members.
Under Observation for Minor Injuries
The sports star had been under observation while healing from his light wounds, his management team had said on Monday. The commissioner for information and strategy, Gbenga Omotoso, announced via a post on X that Joshua was declared medically stable to continue his recovery at home.
“The boxer and his mother were at the mortuary in Lagos this afternoon to offer their condolences to his two deceased friends as they were being made ready for the journey back,” Omotosho said.
A Tribute to the Fallen
The two men who died were identified as Latif Ayodele, a personal trainer, and Sina Ghami, a performance coach. It was also noted that the boxer was “heavy-hearted and deeply emotional over the passing of his two dear friends.”
