FC Barcelona Set to Play First Match at Upgraded Camp Nou on Saturday

The club confirmed their first game will take place at the partially upgraded Camp Nou this Saturday. Athletic Bilbao will visit the Bilbao team in domestic competition two and a half years since relocating for construction to commence.

“Returning home was our dream. Finally, it’s happening. We are back at Spotify Camp Nou.”

Attendance will be limited but 45,401 spectators are permitted inside based on approved permits. Once fully finished, it will accommodate over 104,000 attendees, increasing from the former 99,000. The club said recent additions comprise an updated entryway for the team plus modern locker rooms.

Preparatory Events

The club conducted a public practice on the home pitch earlier this month. Officials stated they were hoping for permission from Uefa to host the next European match facing Eintracht on 9 December at Camp Nou. Their recent games have been held at Estadio Olímpic Lluís Companys.
