Gas Detonation Claims 3 Carabinieri Amid Eviction Action in Northern Italy

Three members of law enforcement perished and no fewer than 15 others were hurt in what appears to be deliberate gas explosion at a country home in northern Italy.

How It Happened

The detonation took place as officers and emergency crews approached the residence near the Verona region to carry out an removal notice for three siblings in their late 50s and mid-60s.

The three victims who died belonged to the Carabinieri force.

Legal Proceedings

A man and a woman were taken into custody at the scene and a third person who escaped subsequent to the blast was found not long after. All three have been admitted to hospital.
