Hulu is Producing a Far Cry TV Series from the Minds of the Alien Series and the Comedy Hit.
The newest action-packed game that gamers explored was Far Cry 6, that showcased Giancarlo Esposito as the villain, Antón, and was released during October 6, 2021. As a series, it is known for celebrating chaos and madness with equal excitement, all while weaving captivating, politically driven stories. It’s no surprise that FX's decision for a Far Cry anthology series attracted two creators whose projects have exemplified all of those qualities.
About the Series
Inspired by Ubisoft's popular video game series, the short-run anthology series is set to premiere on Hulu and be produced by FX Productions. The show will also mirror the video games' structure by having a fresh setting and cast of characters in every instalment.
Executive Team
Rob Mac, mastermind of It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia, and Noah Hawley, the visionary behind FX's Alien: Earth and Fargo, will serve as lead producers on the series via their companies, More Better Productions for Mac, and 26 Keys for Hawley. They will be partnered by Emilia Serrano for 26 Keys, Nick Frenkel for 3 Arts, Jackie Cohn for More Better Productions, John Campisi, Gerard Guillemot, Margaret Boykin, and Austin Dill for Ubisoft Film & Television.
“FX has had excellent relationships with Rob Mac and Noah Hawley for a combined six series and 32 seasons of television, and we are overjoyed that they are joining forces for Far Cry,” commented Nick Grad, President, FX Entertainment, in a announcement. “I have no doubt that they will tell this story in a way that is original, engrossing, and incredibly entertaining. We also want to acknowledge our partners at Ubisoft for placing confidence in us with this popular property.”
What’s Next
Mac will also appear in the show, but currently, we are unsure of what part that could be. Hawley's Alien: Earth was just greenlit for another season, with FX and Disney signing a new overall deal with the producer.
“Getting to work with Noah Hawley is a fantasy come true,” stated Rob Mac. “Ubisoft has been remarkably accommodating, trusting us with one of the most renowned video-game universes ever created. And through it all, my FX team always encourages me with their steady trust and assistance.”
“The aspect I admire about the Far Cry game series is that it’s an anthology-style show. Every title is a variation of a idea, the same way each season of Fargo is a variation on a story,” explained Hawley. “To produce a big action show that can change from one instalment to the next, while always examining the core of humanity through this intricate and turbulent viewpoint, is a ultimate goal. I’m eager to work with Rob and bring our shared bold, daring sensibility to the television.”
A release window for when we can anticipate the new Far Cry show has remains undisclosed. The series will be available on Hulu in the United States and on Disney Plus in other regions.
