Nigel Farage Claims Teachers of ‘Poisoning Our Kids’ on Race Issues

Nigel Farage has asserted that educators would initiate walkouts shortly after a success at the polls for his party, charging that they are “poisoning our kids” by instructing students that black pupils are victims and white children oppressors.

At a gathering for a private US Christian college, the politician expressed his viewpoint on British schools, stating that the “Marxist left” had “now in control of our education system”.

“I expect a walkout by educators very quickly after securing a victory,” Farage commented in response to questions.

“They are poisoning our kids. They are telling them to be ashamed of their country. They are telling an eight-year-old black child that he is oppressed and a white child of the same age that he is a perpetrator. They create division, instead of fostering unity. They promote this negative culture.”

Reacting to these assertions, Daniel Kebede dismissed the idea that the education system was controlled by Marxists as “nonsense”. Kebede noted that any strikes must relate to educators’ working conditions, and questioned whether Reform would attack these right after taking office.

“The politician has crafted his public life on dog-whistle politics and now, similar to other figures, he is targeting educators and their unions for a conflict,” the union leader said.

“I think that’s grossly irresponsible. I don’t – and nor does my union – push critical race theory as he claims … If he were to lead the government he would sell out our public services, particularly schooling … and he would be a disaster for students and learning.”

Reform, which tops surveys by a significant margin, has provided limited specifics on its educational plans and does not appear to have designated an education lead.

Nonetheless, his comments indicated the group would reform the educational framework. He said: “We have got a massive job with education – truly monumental. And, it won’t happen quickly; it will take us years, years to turn this around.”

Farage expressed that gen Z was more open to critical thinking, but older youth were “completely lost”.

Honoring Charlie Kirk, he commented: “My goal for schooling is to foster independent thought – to educate individuals that multiple perspectives exist and you make up your own mind as opposed to current practices where one is virtuous and one is evil. It’s a massive job in both Britain and America.”

Reform has previously clashed with the UK’s largest teaching union, after the union leader labeled them “far right and racist” and dismissed Farage as “a cheap imitation”.

The politician has charged the union head with being “an avowed radical” … someone who is absolutely determined that young minds be corrupted through education, their minds should be poisoned about everything to do with this country” and has argued that the union is trying to indoctrinate youth opposed to his party.

Almost one million people work in schools in the UK, with educators comprising half and the remainder being assistants and administrative personnel. The major education union has about 450,000 members.

Countrywide walkouts over educators’ salaries and work environment in 2023 led to significant interruptions in schools and millions of days of lost learning for children.

During the American gathering, the Reform leader also vowed to promote the digital courses of the Christian college in the UK. He stated such groups were “key to resistance”, noting: “I am serious. I’ll assist attract vast numbers of youth to these educational programs. I pledge this tonight and I’ll do that.”

The institution, a small private Christian college, provides complimentary classes. Its website states: “Comprehensive learning is vital for well-being and to perpetuate the blessings of freedom. The college furnishes these beautiful courses for free to every interested learner.”
