The children's author David Walliams lost his contract with publishing house.
Acclaimed young adult author and TV personality David Walliams has been dropped by his UK book publisher, according to an announcement.
A spokesman for the company stated: "Upon deliberation, and following the appointment of its recently appointed chief executive, HarperCollins UK has decided not to publish additional books by David Walliams."
Reports indicate that the conclusion was reached following an investigation into claims about inappropriate behaviour involving women.
The firm declined to specify the specific rationale behind the move, noting: "We refrain from speaking about confidential company decisions."
A Prolific Literary Career
Walliams ranks among Britain's most prolific writers for young readers, boasting over over six tens of millions of copies internationally in 55 languages.
His inaugural foray into kids' literature, *The Boy in the Dress*, was released through HarperCollins fifteen years ago.
Several of his works, such as *Gangsta Granny* and *Billionaire Boy*, have also been adapted into small-screen adaptations.
To date, he has released in excess of 40 works in total, including a holiday title named *Santa & Son*, which came out under HarperCollins in October.
A Dual Career
His career breakthrough occurred on the broadcast sketch program *Little Britain* and has additionally received National Television Awards for his duties as an arbiter on *Britain's Got Talent*.
He received an OBE in 2017 in recognition of his work for charity and the arts.
The publisher's decision comes after the naming of Kate Elton as HarperCollins UK's recent CEO last fall.
